Kesuksesan Japan Community Widyatama dalam menggelar acara SASIMI

On Saturday (March 5), the Student Activity Unit Japanese Community held the Sasimi “UCHUU” event. This annual event featured a series of exciting activities, including a Japanese Band Audition, Japanese Cosplay, Japanese Food Festival, and an exhibition by the manga automotive community.

Not only university students, but also many high school and vocational school students attended the event, which was held at the Widyatama University (UTama) Multipurpose Auditorium. This shows that Japanese Culture is still an idol in the eyes of the nation’s youth. The uniqueness of the “sushi” country’s culture greatly attracted the enthusiasm of young people, not only from the culture, but also cartoon characters and other creativity combined with national culture were also featured at the Sashimi event.

“We are very grateful that enthusiasm for Sasimi has increased from year to year. This is a great result of the committee’s hard work in preparing for the event over the past three months,” said Tiras, Chair of the Sasimi Organizing Committee, when met at GSG Widyatama. The success of the event was also due to the participation of sponsors who saw the enormous benefits of the event. “This year, we received a lot of sponsorship from companies in all fields of business,” he continued in an interview conducted by the Widyatana Marketing Bureau.

In collaboration with the Bandung City Education Office, the UTama Marketing Bureau, which was one of the Gold Sponsors of this “UCHU” themed Sasimi, invited public and private schools to attend the Sasimi event, especially schools that have language departments, language vocational programs, and Japanese or literature courses. This is a way for Widyatama University to introduce itself to schools that are not yet familiar with its profile, and schools can recommend their students to study at Widyatama University, especially those who are interested in enrolling in the Faculty of Languages.

The development of Japanese culture and language in Indonesia has successfully inspired Indonesian youth to be creative and cultivate Japanese culture. Although this event was semi-formal, it had a positive effect on Widyatama. The sashimi tasting opened the minds of prospective new students and convinced them to choose the Japanese study program. They can become more than just translators; there are many fields they can enter by enrolling in the Japanese study program.
