The English Department of Widyatama University conducted a 4.0 Industrial Revolution Workshop with the theme “Comprehensive transformation of all fields of industrial production through the incorporation of digital and internet technology with conventional industries”. Speakers were the lecturer from Widyatama Language Faculty, Dr. Ervina CM Simatupang M. Hum and Lecturer of Telkom University Dr. Iis Kurnia, M.Hum and acted as moderator was Dr. Hendar. M.Pd. This workshop was attended by 270 participants, including from UIN, STBA, LP3i, UNISBA, TELKOM, etc. held on Saturday, April 6th, 2019 in 4th floor rectorate building of Widyatama University.
“The four in the term of Industry 4.0 refers to the fourth revolution. Industry 4.0 is a unique phenomenon compared to the three industrial revolutions that preceded it.” said Dr. Iis Kurnia.
Recently, in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. everything in and around manufacturing operations (suppliers, factories, distributors, even products themselves) are connected digitally, provided a highly integrated value chain. The Indonesian government has implemented a number of strategies in dealing with Industry 4.0: among them is by increasing the competence of human resources through a link and match program between education and industry (Menperin).
It is expected that millennial generations are ready to face the industrial revolution. Since today is very possible to create new jobs and maybe a job that is never thought about before. So, we open our minds to millennials to always be ready with the possibilities that occur in the current era.
