Informatics Students Create an IoT-Based Flood Detection Tool and Cloud Computing in Handling Flood Problems

Flood is a natural disaster that becomes a threat to all humans and caused by the outflow of river water that exits and the flow of river water that exceeds the capacity of the river, this condition can occur rapidly, especially in the lowlands in the river valley area and a basin that carries debris in its flow.

Observing to this phenomenon and the current flood that is still unresolved, Vito Hafizh Cahaya Putra (061401003) from Informatics Engineering creates an IoT-Based Flood Detection Tool and Cloud Computing. The development of technology is growing rapidly nowadays where there is a tool called an early warning system. Early warning system is a series of systems to notify if there are “things that will have a negative impact” and can minimize the impact caused.

Therefore, by the existence of a technology called the Internet of Things that can be integrated with the system, it can provide an early warning system that delivers warnings in the form of sirens and sends early warning information on social media in the form of twit in Twitter.
