On Saturday (March 9), the Widyatama University Islamic Student Association (KAMI) held the 6th Widayatama Islamic Festival (WIF) in the seminar room on the fourth floor of Building A. The Widyatama Islamic Festival (WIF) is a regular event held by the Islamic Student Association (KaMI). This event has been running for six years with the aim of providing a forum for young Muslims to strengthen their brotherhood and strengthen their ukhuwah (brotherhood) through da’wah (proselytizing).

90 participants, including university students and high school students, took part in several categories of competitions, including the call to prayer competition, Islamic quiz, tahfidz, poster, and short movie. With the theme “Faith for Everyone,” this event emphasizes that Islam should be studied by people of all ages, from children to adults, because studying Islam will save people from the evils of the world and help them attain Allah SWT’s paradise, said Sandi, the chair of the WIF organizing committee.

“In addition to strengthening the bonds between the families of Widyatama Islamic students, this event also aims to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between Rohis members,” said Sandi, chair of the WIF organizing committee. “Of course, it also aims to increase enthusiasm, especially in terms of da’wah and academics,” added Sandi.

This event will conclude with a tabligh akbar (grand religious gathering) featuring several speakers, including Ustad Husein Gaza (founder of Gaza Media) and Kang Ucay (former vocalist of the band Rocket Rockers) on March 16, 2019. (Ed)
