The relationship between two well-known campuses in Bandung, Padjadjaran University (UNPAD) and Widyatama University is getting closer.
When both parties signed a memorandum of understanding / MoU for the third time.
Prof. Rina Indiastuti as Chancellor of UNPAD and Islahuzzaman, Rector of Widyatama University, signed the MoU at the Widyatama University Seminar Room, 6th floor, B Building, Jalan Cikutra No. 204 A, Bandung, Friday (9/8/2019).
Purposed on further improvement of education quality at UNPAD and Widyatama University by applying Tridharma tertiary institutions.
It included at the field of academic by lecturers’ immersion at each institution.
Furthermore, in the research area, they collaborated on writing scientific research papers. As well as collaborating on student creativity & entrepreneurship activities and community service.
“as we know that Widyatama University has prior excellent study programs, such as management, accounting, and recently, language and techniques are increased well,” said Rina, after the signing event to the media crew.
Meanwhile, Prof. Obi, the chairperson of the Widyatama Foundation, explained that UNPAD is one of the superior campuses in Indonesia.
Currently, the two parties have carried out various collaborations for over ten years.
Even lot of UNPAD lecturers and UNPAD graduates teach at Widyatama University.
“We have adopted many examples from UNPAD. Especially for the field of business and management accounting study program that have lasted a long time, by conducting various studies, community service and international publications together,” said Obi.
“UNPAD is not our rival, but they are our teachers. Widyatama continues to learn to be as good as UNPAD, ” Obi added.
He further explained that by this MoU, Widyatama University also planned to organize a doctoral program in management and accounting.
“Hopefully, in the near future it can be realized. We are proposing this process. We will engage the professor from UNPAD,” said Obi. Dr. H. Islahuzzaman Rector of Widyatama University on the same occasion said that the collaboration with UNPAD was very beneficial. The cooperation was formally signed through the MoU, for the next five years. Especially in the transfer of information and learning techniques.
“What was sent to us were UNPAD professors and lecturers who had high quality, so they could spread knowledge, experience and others to us,” said Islahuzzaman. In addition, this MoU purposed on providing guidance to lecturers, institutions and students of Widyatama University. Recently, Widyatama University has five faculties, they are Faculty of Management and Business, Accounting, DKV, Engineering and Language with dozens of study programs from diploma to magister levels.
