Ali, an accounting student at Widyatama University, was selected as one of the young entrepreneurs to participate in the national selection for “Wirausaha Muda Mandiri” (Independent Young Entrepreneurs), held in January, representing West Java. Ali impressed the judges with his presentation of the flagship products and business operations of “Jawa Green Tour,” beating out 24 other participants. This activity is part of Bank Mandiri’s commitment to creating jobs, said Tito Irianto, Deputy Regional Manager of Bank Mandiri for the West Java region. The finalists will receive guidance on how to run a business independently and financially soundly, and will even receive assistance with capital for business development, added Tito. The Widyatama University curriculum includes entrepreneurship as one of the compulsory courses that students must take. It is hoped that graduates will gain the independence and confidence to create job opportunities. With the tagline “friendly campus for future business pros,” Widyatama continues to improve the quality of its teaching system in shaping independent and creative young entrepreneurs.***
