Bandung (16/11), It is common for 12th grade students to be confused about which university to choose to continue their education. Especially since they will be entering their second semester in two months. In metropolitan cities such as Bandung, focusing on the National Examination (UN) is not the only main goal for students graduating from high school. However, successfully entering their favorite university in line with their passions, interests, and talents is also important.
This time, Widyatama University (UTama) welcomed guests from SMK Informatika. The event, which was held on the 6th floor of the Theater Building at UTama, was led by Mr. Bintang as the Acting Principal of SMK Informatika. Around 50 students attended the event, which also included a tryout ahead of the UN. The tryout was intended to prepare the students for the UN so that they could perform to the best of their ability.
Yogi and his friends were also present to introduce the innovative angklung (Klungto) and provide information about the Faculty of Engineering of UTama. “UTama is still a favorite destination for continuing higher education. The hi-tech facilities and up-to-date teaching methods make students even more confident about studying at UTama,” added Mrs. Santi, one of the SMK Informatika counselors. The motivational seminar ahead of the national exams by Mr. Pipin Sukandi, S.E., M.M. warmed up the atmosphere of the visit, and the students listened attentively.
The success of the Tagline SMK Bisa! (Vocational Schools Can Do It!) launched by the government does not mean that they are only oriented towards work, but that they are “aware” of global competition, and that education must be woven higher than secondary school. This is what makes vocational school students eager to continue their studies at university. The role of UTama as a quality educational institution has always been their alternative choice in continuing their education. In addition, the presence of vocational studies as a continuation of secondary school can also help meet the needs of the industrial world and develop their potential at an early age. Acquiring linear knowledge is their stability in being able to compete and produce innovations for Indonesia.
