Widyatama Open House 2025 Attended by Hundreds of Students

BANDUNG – Universitas Widyatama held its annual “Widyatama Open House 2025” event, which was flooded with hundreds of high school/vocational school students from various regions in Greater Bandung. Held on campus on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, this event was intended to socialize and directly introduce the advantages of 22 study programs to prospective new students. This moment was also used to showcase the university’s latest international achievements.

Direct Interaction and Achievement Exhibition

The Chief Executive of Widyatama Open House 2025, Muchammad Fauzi, S.T., M.Log., CSCA., CSCM., explained that this event was designed to provide a real experience for visitors. “We opened booths for all 22 study programs to educate prospective new students. So we showcased all 22 study programs so that students could interactively experience each study program,” he explained. The target audience was not only 12th graders, but also 10th and 11th graders who were still looking for references, as well as workers who were looking for employee class programs.

This event received a warm welcome from university leaders. The Rector of Universitas Widyatama, Prof. Dr. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum., shared the good news about the campus’s achievements in his speech. “We would like to share the latest news, we received a gold medal from the Universitas Widyatama Living Lab program in the village of Cileles and this gold medal was awarded in a contest held at the Mara University of Technology Malaysia. It’s amazing,” he said. He stressed that this achievement is clear proof of Widyatama’s quality, which needs to be communicated to prospective students and parents.

The Open House atmosphere was lively and interactive. Students were enthusiastic about visiting the study program booths scattered around the campus area. The Visual Communication Design (DKV) and Film and Television (FTV) faculty booths were among the most visited. Visitors not only viewed the exhibitions, but also participated in interesting activities such as learning how to create wound effects for films and trying out the streaming process.

This enthusiasm was reflected in the visitors’ comments. Vika and Risti, students from SMAN 1 Dayeuhkolot, admitted that they were very impressed. “The most interesting thing was when we visited the study program booths. I am interested in the FTV study program, because I just found out that filming involves sound effects and illusions, which I didn’t know before, and it turns out to be really interesting,” said Risti. They also enjoyed the musical entertainment and hoped that next year’s event would be even more lively and not hampered by rain.

Similarly, Okta and Nadia from SMA YAS Bandung also said they had gained valuable experience. “What I found interesting was the FTV booth, because I like art. Earlier, we were taught how to create wounds or effects, and then we were taught how to stream, which was really interesting,” said Nadia. This kind of first-hand experience succeeded in broadening the students’ knowledge about the world of college that they will enter.

Widyatama Open House 2025 successfully became a living showcase that displayed academic excellence, achievements, and the dynamics of campus life. By combining educational information and interactive experiences, the event not only successfully attracted potential students but also established a positive image as a prestigious and innovative institution. The hope is that this event will continue to serve as an effective bridge between the university and the community, welcoming more new families to Widyatama University each year.
