Higher education around the world is currently facing serious challenges in light of globalization and open-door education policies. Universities are competing for students, staff, funding, and reputation in a manner that is no less intense than the ongoing globalization. Higher education has become a necessity to improve compatibility and credibility, so it is necessary for university management to improve the compatibility and credibility of quality assurance activities to be on par with the international community. Therefore, the development of quality assurance mechanisms, including accreditation, accountability, and auditing, has become one of the key practices of globalization in many sectors of higher education—in both developed and developing countries.

Widyatama University, as one of the best private universities in Indonesia, together with the Open University, Malaysia, and San Beda College, Philippines, will hold an international seminar on Quality Assurance in Higher Education (WIS 2014). The Widyatama International Seminar 2014 (WIS 2014) will be held in Bali, Indonesia, in February 2014.

The name and form of the event is “Widyatama International Seminar.” This event aims to create an international forum that brings together academics, researchers, business leaders, and other higher education stakeholders to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of quality assurance.

To share information about the quality of quality assurance practices and achievements. To create mutual understanding between geographical regions, increase commitment, and improve transparency in quality assurance in higher education.
