Thursday (July 4, 2019) The Faculty of Economics (FE) and the Faculty of Business Management (FBM) Widyatama received a comparative study visit from STIE PGRI Sukabumi in the Meeting Room of Graha Building A, 1st floor. The group of 13 structural members and lecturers was welcomed by the Head of the Faculty of Economics, Dr. Diana Sari, S.E., M.SI., AK., Q.I.A., C.A., and the Dean of the Faculty of Business Management, Dr. Deden Sutisna, M.N., S.E., M.Si., as well as the Heads of the Accounting Study Program and the Business Management Study Program.
In his speech, FBM Dean Dr. Deden said that Universitas Widyatama students are currently in the 2018/2019 interim semester, preparing for the BAN-PT Re-Accreditation Program Study Visit. He added that currently, 6 study programs have received a “Premier” ASIC International Accreditation rating.
The delegation from STIE PGRI Sukabumi, led by Mr. Agus Sobar (Deputy Head of Student Affairs), was enthusiastic about Widyatama University’s seriousness in shaping the character of its students as entrepreneurs, as it will soon open a business/entrepreneurship study program. In 2019, the Faculty of Business Management has updated its curriculum to focus on strengthening the character of graduates to become entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, Dr. Diana added that at Widyatama, the separation between the Faculty of Economics (FE) and the Faculty of Business Management (FBM) is due to the large student body and the university’s desire to focus FE on accounting while FBM focuses on entrepreneurship.
The Faculty of Economics often carries out the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), one of which is Community Service, particularly in villages in West Java. Many problems have been found in terms of village finances and cooperatives. To overcome this, the Faculty of Economics at Widyatama has added a course on BUMDES Accounting, he added.
