On Tuesday and Wednesday, February 4th–5th, 2025, the International Trade Study Program Association Formation Event was held in Room B.121 at Widyatama University. This event was an important moment for the development and synergy between similar study programs at various universities in Indonesia. In this occasion, the Bachelor of International Trade Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Widyatama University, acted as the host and facilitator of the event.
The association formation event was held in a hybrid format, combining face-to-face meetings (offline) and participation through an online platform. A total of six universities attended in person at Widyatama University, while four other universities participated online. The presence of these various universities demonstrated their enthusiasm for the formation of a joint forum that will facilitate academic collaboration, research, and curriculum development in the field of international trade.
The series of events took place in an atmosphere of togetherness and deliberation. The participants exchanged views on the challenges and opportunities for the development of International Trade Study Programs in the future. In addition, the objectives and strategic direction of the association to be formed were also discussed, so that it could become an effective forum for communication and a platform for cooperation between study programs throughout Indonesia.
From the results of the joint discussion, the initial management structure of the International Trade Study Program Association was finally agreed upon. In the election, Denny Saputera, S.E., M.M., Ak., Head of the International Trade Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Widyatama University, was elected as the Chair of the Association. Meanwhile, the position of Vice Chair of the Association was entrusted to Abdul Rozak, S.E., M.Si., who is the Head of the International Trade Undergraduate Program at ‘Aisyiyah University.
The formation of this association is expected to become a strong foundation in strengthening cooperation between universities, while also improving the quality of education, research, and making a real contribution to the development of international trade in Indonesia.
