Guidance and Counseling Teachers (BK) who are members of the MGBK from Ciamis Regency, Banjar City, and Pangandaran Regency visited and took a campus tour of Widyatama University (UTama) Bandung on Friday, February 7, 2025. The event, held in the Seminar Room on the 6th floor of Building B at UTama, aimed to improve cooperation between the university and MGBK in providing information and education to students. A total of 14 school representatives from the three regions attended and participated in this housewarming event.

Cooperation and Warm Welcome

The event began with an opening, followed by remarks from Widyatama University and MGBK representatives. Dr. Didit Damur Rochman, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng, Vice Rector for Research, PKM, Innovation & Cooperation at Widyatama University, welcomed the BK teachers. He explained the history of UTama, starting from the Bandung Institute of Accounting (IAB) in 1973 to becoming a university in 2001, as well as its advantages and facilities, including smart classrooms and an e-learning system that has been in place for a long time. “We have excellent accreditation and understand the economic conditions of students’ parents, so we provide various solutions, including scholarships and collaborations with industry,” said Dr. Didit.

The head of MGBK Ciamis, Yosep Setiawan, M.Pd., expressed his gratitude for the facilities provided by UTama. “This activity is very inspiring, the campus facilities are excellent and support the learning process. We will recommend UTama to students,” said Yosep. He also emphasized the importance of education as an investment in the future, and stressed that the quality of education is not only determined by whether it is public or private, but by the individual themselves. “This is our first visit to the campus, and thank God, we hope this collaboration can continue,” he added. Yosep also expressed his hope that UTama can contribute more to MGBK from the districts/cities of Ciamis, Banjar, and Pangandaran.

Future Expectations and Contributions

The visit ended with the presentation of a plaque, a group photo, a presentation from the university, a question and answer session, and a campus tour. With this collaboration, it is hoped that information about educational opportunities at Widyatama University can be effectively conveyed to students in the Ciamis, Banjar, and Pangandaran areas. This initiative also shows UTama’s commitment to reaching various levels of society and providing quality educational opportunities for all, as well as strengthening the role of MGBK as a bridge of information between students and universities. This excellent cooperation is also expected to make a positive contribution to the development of education in the region.
