On Saturday (August 4), the Japanese Language Study Program (S1 and D-III) at Widyatama University (UTama) held a promotional event at the West Java High School/Vocational School/Islamic High School Japanese Language Teacher Working Group (MGMP) National Working Meeting at Widyatama University. The promotional activities included a presentation on the profile of the Japanese Language Bachelor’s Degree and Diploma III programs, as well as the distribution of leaflets and Japanese fans to teachers who are members of the Japanese Language Teachers’ Working Group (MGMP).
On this occasion, the Head of the Japanese Language Diploma Program, Aan Amalia, Dra., M.Pd., as the host, gave a speech and expressed her gratitude to the Japanese language teachers who are members of the Japanese Language Teacher Working Group (MGMP) for Senior High Schools/Vocational Schools/Islamic Senior High Schools in West Java, who are always ready to collaborate with the Japanese Language Study Program at Widyatama University. The profiles of the Bachelor’s and Diploma III programs were presented by the Head of the Japanese Language Bachelor’s and Diploma III Programs, Hety Nurohmah, S.S., M.Hum. Meanwhile, the PICs for this event were Raden Novitasari, S.S., M.Hum (lecturer at the Japanese Language Program) and Reffa Novianti, S.S. (Japanese Language MGMP). After the presentation of the program profiles, the teachers received leaflets and Japanese fans as souvenirs from the Japanese Language Study Program at Widyatama University.
West Java Japanese Language MGMP at the National Working Meeting at Widyatama University
The national working meeting was attended by 94 Japanese language teachers from various high schools/vocational schools/Islamic high schools in West Java and is part of the annual agenda of the Japanese Language MGMP. The topic discussed was the 2013 curriculum learning tools. The chairperson of the West Java Japanese Language MGMP, Reffa Novianti, S.S., said that the “Cooperative Learning” model should be implemented by teachers to support students’ oral communication skills, develop their social skills, and boost their confidence in the classroom. The cooperative learning model was developed to achieve three learning objectives, namely academic learning outcomes, acceptance of individual differences, and the development of social skills.
In addition, the West Java Japanese Language MGMP national working meeting was often filled with sharing activities from teachers about interesting experiences, such as sharing experiences from the Thailand International Japanese Camp 2018, which was held last May.
Hopefully, the collaborative activities between the Japanese Language Study Program at Widyatama University and the Japanese Language Teacher Working Group (MGMP) can continue to be well established and carried out regularly.
