Competition in today’s job market is fierce. Graduates from various levels of education, especially universities, are competing to find jobs that meet their expectations. Companies do not hesitate to demand high qualifications from prospective employees. It is not enough to have a diploma, satisfactory transcripts, and work experience; many companies also require prospective employees to have certification of expertise or profession in a particular field.
Skill certification is a process that results in a certificate of expertise showing that a person has met the competency requirements based on scientific discipline, functionality, and/or specific expertise. All students need to be aware of the importance of professional certification. Therefore, the D-III Management Study Program of the Faculty of Business and Management at Universitas Widyatama provided an introduction in the form of a presentation on professional certification to D3 Management Study Program students, particularly those from the 2016 and 2017 cohorts.
This presentation was held on February 19th, 2019, and March 15th, 2019, in collaboration with the Universitas Widyatama Investment Gallery. The Head of the UTama Investment Gallery, Mrs. Siti Komariah, S.E., M.M., had the opportunity to provide a clear historical overview of WPPE Capital Market Certification. This Capital Market WPPE Certification can be taken by Universitas Widyatama students free of charge. Students who are interested in participating in the Capital Market WPPE certification process can register themselves through the link available on the TICMI website.
The Capital Market WPPE certification activity includes 10 hours of training and a competency test. If students or certification participants take part in a series of activities and are able to pass the competency test in accordance with the established standards, then students/participants are entitled to obtain a WPPE professional expertise certificate. This WPPE professional expertise certificate will increase the marketability of graduates of the D-III Management Study Program in the labor market.
Universits Widyatama also has several collaborations related to this professional certification, such as those managed by LPAP for Export-Import certification and others.
