The importance of the three pillars of higher education for universities is the main foundation for the running of a good institution. This is also true for Widyatama University (UTama), which is very concerned with the implementation of the three pillars of higher education. This is demonstrated by the increase in UTama’s cooperation with various secondary schools, especially in the city of Bandung. This includes both vocational and general schools in order to carry out Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Several points offered by UTama in carrying out cooperation with the second party are establishing cooperation in various activities related to character development at the senior high school, vocational school, or equivalent levels, including the development of an entrepreneurial spirit, handling disabilities, the development of information technology, and the development of foreign language skills in the form of the three pillars of higher education, such as education, research, and community service.
The purpose of this collaboration is basically to support each other as partners in order to grow and develop each party’s business activities based on the principle of mutually beneficial cooperation. In addition, the collaboration agreement stipulates that UTama will provide trainers according to the needs of the first party, including the development of entrepreneurial spirit, handling of disabilities, development of information technology, and development of foreign language potential.
As a symbol of the cooperation between the two institutions, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by officials from both parties. The cooperation will last for two years. In addition to being a forum for CSR, this cooperation is expected to produce innovative research by lecturers that can be implemented in the field. The aim is not only to provide input, but also to ensure that the process and output are clearly felt by the communities in need.
