A New World Order with Technological Literacy

On Saturday (March 19), the Association of Information Technology Students (HIMATIF) held the Widyatama Informatics Festival 2016. The event, which was held at the Widyatama University (UTama) Auditorium, invited not only engineering students as the audience. However, vocational high school students in Bandung also participated enthusiastically. With the theme “Future of Technology,” this annual event aimed to provide insight to high school students and the community about developments in technology and information. In addition, WIFI 2016 contributed to the audience through workshops, seminars, and competitions.

The participating schools included 3 vocational high schools and 1 high school spread across West Java. “A lot of support from external parties (sponsorship) gave us confidence that the event would run smoothly and successfully,” said Hanif, Executive Chair of WIFI 2016. Indeed, this year, the number of companies partnering with WIFI has raised the optimism of the entire committee in carrying out the entire series of events. The activities, which began on March 17 to 18, included the Networking Contest, Web Design Contest, Programming Contest, and Photography Contest.
