2019 Indonesian Student Debate Competition (KDMI) for LLDIKTI Region IV

Reported from https://www.kopertis4.or.id, Bandung – The Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region IV held the Indonesian Student Debate Competition (KDMI) at the regional level from April 22nd to 24th, 2019. The event, which was held at the Widyatama University Campus, was attended by 54 participants from 54 universities that had passed the selection process at the district level.

The competition was officially opened by the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Division of LLDIKTI Region IV, Dra. Deece Udansyah, M.Si. Deece said that KDMI is a competition that establishes a pattern for student development and provides a forum for students to develop their potential to become people who are faithful and devout, have noble character, are knowledgeable, skilled, creative, competent, and cultured. It was also conveyed that this activity is a positive event for students to demonstrate their best abilities in critical thinking and communication, boost their confidence, develop networks between universities, and foster a sense of unity and pride in the nation’s diversity and culture.

The three-day event involved three main judges, namely Zubaedah Wiji Lestari, S.Pd., M.Pd. (UNINUS), Drs. Danny Nugraha, M.Ed.M. (Bandung State Polytechnic), and Pawit Wartono, S.E., M.M. (Universitas Widyatama). From the 54 teams that participated in this regional competition, 4 teams were selected to participate in the National Indonesian Student Debate Competition. The 4 teams are:

The purpose of this competition is to enhance the competitiveness of university students and graduates through scientific debate, improve their oral and written Indonesian language skills, enhance their critical and analytical thinking abilities, develop their ability to express opinions logically and systematically, and strengthen their character through an understanding of national and international issues and their alternative solutions.
