On Tuesday (28/2), the Head of Bank Syariah Bukopin (BSB) Martadinata Bandung branch, Hadi Suyanto, along with three staff members, visited Widyatama University. On this occasion, Bank Syariah Bukopin sought to explore cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Business Management at Widyatama University in terms of establishing a Mini Sharia Bank laboratory on the Widyatama campus. The exploration of cooperation was initiated by Mr. Pipin Sukandi, S.E., M.M., who is the Head of the Widyatama University Career Center.
Also present were the Head of the UTama Cooperation Bureau, Mr. Viddi Mardiansyah, S.T., M.T., representatives from the Marketing Bureau, the Faculty of Economics, and the Faculty of Business Management.
This meeting was a follow-up to the Widyatama Gathering with Companies on February 18, 2017. Regarding the implementation of the Mini Sharia Bank program, Hadi said that BSB does not only provide software. The presence of this laboratory room is also expected to help the campus prepare human resources (HR) with the competencies required by the business world and industry, especially Islamic banking today. “We agree to help the campus provide an Islamic banking laboratory room as a practice facility for students of the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Business Management on this campus,” he said.
Pipin added that the scope of cooperation between UTama and BSB could still be expanded with other forms of cooperation. “If this cooperation is agreed upon by the top leaders of both parties, other forms of cooperation are still wide open,” added Hadi. The next step is to invite representatives from the leadership of the Widyatama Foundation and the Facilities Bureau to discuss the procurement of a Sharia Banking laboratory room.
Currently, BSB already has mini Islamic Banks at Muhammadiyah University Surakarta (UMS) and Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) in Yogyakarta.
