Tuesday, March 14, 2017 Universitas Widyatama (UTama) welcomed a visit from Catholic Widya Mandala University Surabaya (UKWMS). The group of four people, led by Dr. Teodora Winda, Ak., CA, was welcomed at the UTama Graduate School Building by Prof. Dr. Karhi Nisjar Sardjudin, MM., Ak., CA, and several leaders of the Graduate School and UTama Rectorate.
The event opened with a speech from the Head of the Master of Accounting Study Program, Prof. Dr. Karhi Nisjar Sardjudin, MM., Ak., CA, followed by a presentation on the profile of UTama’s Master of Accounting program and programs from the Faculty of Economics, delivered by Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan K., S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA.

In 2017, UKWMS successfully obtained permission from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education to organize a Master of Accounting Program under the auspices of the Faculty of Business. In this comparative study, both parties had the opportunity to share and learn about the management of the Master of Accounting (MAKSI) program at Universitas Widyatama, including the curriculum, the implementation of the Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), the application of campus policies such as the smoking ban, the organizational structure and bureaucracy related to campus facilities and infrastructure, the process of budget preparation and use, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to complaint handling and academic matters.
In the discussion on the implementation of the Master of Accounting program, Teodora said that MAKSI at UKWMS is a form of concentration, while Karhi said that the UTama Master of Accounting Program stresses specialization and is adjusted to the quota of new students. In terms of class schedules, UTama offers regular classes (Monday to Thursday) and weekend classes (Thursday to Saturday). The concentrations of the MAKSI Program at UTama include Auditing, Government Accounting, Taxation, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Accounting Information Systems.

In addition to the MAKSI Study Program, the Universitas Widyatama Graduate School has also opened a Master of Management (MM) Study Program and a Professional Accounting Program (PPAk). After the discussion, the group was invited to visit several facilities and infrastructure in the UTama Graduate School Building. The event ended with an exchange of souvenirs and a group photo.
