Open Senate Session: Inauguration of New Students at Widyatama University

On Saturday (September 8), Widyatama University closed its University Introduction Program (PPU) through an Open Senate Session to inaugurate new students for the 2018/2019 academic year at the Widyatama Auditorium (GSG). Before starting their lectures, new students were given some information about student life and general lectures from several national figures.

The senate session was chaired by the Rector of Widyatama University, Dr. H. Islahuzzaman, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA, and attended by the Professors Council and officials from the Foundation and Rectorate of Widyatama University. The session began with a report by the Executive Chairperson, Aida Wijaya S.E., M.Si., Ak, on the number of new students enrolled for the 2018/2019 academic year.

The next event was the inauguration of the new students by Rector Widyatama, marked by the pinning of the alma mater jacket on representatives of the new students. The two representatives of the new students declared their determination through the “Widyatama Student Pledge,” which was followed by all new students.

At this senate meeting, a decree was read by the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau and PPU Chairperson Aida Wijaya S.E., M.Si., regarding the awarding of scholarships to new students, including Bidikmisi Scholarships, Unggulan Scholarships, PMDK Akademik 1 Scholarships, and Diloma Scholarships. The Widyatama Foundation also awarded foundation scholarships. The Chairperson of the Widyatama Foundation, Sri Juniati, S.E., M.B.A., and the Rector of Widyatama University, Dr. H. Islahuzzaman, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA, symbolically awarded scholarships to new and active students.

The open senate session for the inauguration of new students at Widyatama University closed with the singing of the Teacher’s Hymn, the Widyatama Hymn, and the Widyatama March, ending with a prayer.

The closing ceremony of the Widyatama University Introduction Program was greeted with cheers from all new students who had officially become part of Widyatama University. The excitement of the PPU closing ceremony continued with a more informal atmosphere, featuring students with special needs from the Widyatama Art Therapy Center performing several songs. Students from the Widyatama Art Therapy Center had the honor of accompanying singer Andien for her performance at the “Colors Exhibition: Colors from the Perspective of Children with Special Needs” event organized by Dia.Lo.Gue Art Space on August 29th.

The Widyatama Student Art Group also enlivened the PPU closing ceremony through several sub-units, namely the Vocal Group, Big Band, and PomPomBoys, which were enthusiastically welcomed by all new students.

Cheerful smiles were seen on the faces of new students who had participated in a series of closing events for the University Introduction Program (PPU), which lasted for eleven days.

The release of dozens of balloons marked the completion of PPU Widyatama 2018.

The excitement grew as the Chairman of the Widyatama Foundation released dozens of balloons at the Main Hall Plaza, which is the icon of Widyatama University. (Ed)
