1,592 Prospective New Students at Widyatama University Participate in the University Introduction Program (PPU 2022)

SABACIREBON – A total of 1,592 prospective students of Widyatama University Bandung,

from August 22 to September 2, 2022, participated in the University Introduction Program (PPU) through a hybrid live streaming Zoom meeting and face-to-face sessions.

The Widyatama PPU event was officially opened by the Rector of Widyatama University (UTama), Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, on Monday morning (08/22), with the largest number of participants coming from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), totaling 799 prospective students. The university orientation program was also attended by prospective students from the Faculty of Engineering (369), the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (149), the Faculty of Visual Communication Design (149), the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (129), and the graduate school (129).

The Rector of UTama, at the opening of the event, said that basically the orientation activities had a noble purpose, namely to prepare new students to enter a new educational environment with a series of activities over a two-week period.

In addition, the activities were also carried out with the aim of fostering motivation, pride in the alma mater, and enthusiasm for learning, as well as increasing discipline, self-awareness, and responsibility as students of Widyatama University.

On the first day of the 2022 PPU activities, prospective students were required to attend online

via a Zoom meeting starting at 7:20 a.m., which consisted of explanations from their seniors regarding the rules of the 2022 PPU activities, followed by introductions from the PPU mentors.

The inauguration of this PPU activity was also used by the Rector, Prof. Dadang Suganda, to introduce other university structural officials, namely the Vice Rector I for Higher Education Tridharma, Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan Kusumah, S.E., M.SI., Ak. CA., and the Vice Rector for Operations, Dr. Diana Sari, S.E., M.Si., Ak., Q.I.A., CA., ACPA.

“First of all, on behalf of the Widyatama University family, allow me to say Welcome and Congratulations on Joining Widyatama University to the New Students for the Odd Semester of the 2022/2023 Academic Year,” said Prof. Dadang.

The PPU event continued with the screening of a video profile of Widyatama University, as well as an explanation from the Widyatama University clinic about Student Insurance Socialization and Health Facilities for all prospective students during their first day of study at Widyatama University.
