Widyatama University is once again helping MSME players in running their businesses. This time, it is the turn of Widyatama Business Incubator (WIBI) and the PkM team chaired by Dr. Keni Kaniawati to implement the program.
The Widyatama PkM team, which also includes Ifa Latifah, M.Si and Yani Riani, M.T,provided traditional Sundanese food processing equipment, Opak, which was funded by a grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemenristerdikti) and the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology.
It is hoped that with the food processing machine, Opak Oded business owners, who are also tenants of WIBI, will be able to reap the benefits, especially in terms of production efficiency.
The assistance machine was handed over by the Rector of UTama, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda and the Secretary of the Widyatama Foundation, Rahmat Taufik, S.E., M.AK., AK., CA at the Widyatama University Theater Room, Building B, 6th floor, on Saturday (20/08).
The handover ceremony of the assistance machines to MSME entrepreneurs related to the PkM activity was also attended by Hardiles, S.T., MT. (KLT BSN West Java Province), who explained the mechanism for a product to obtain Indonesian National Standard (SNI) certification, and Aitsa Jusnidar (PT. Pegadaian), who explained about capital investment for MSME actors that can be obtained from the People’s Business Credit (KUR).
Prof. Dadang stated that the activities of the lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business UTama within the PkM framework were considered highly beneficial for both parties, the lecturers and the community itself.
“Everyone has the right to create knowledge, not just in higher education. Knowledge is everywhere.The problem is that the knowledge that is practiced has not been abstracted, and the task of higher education is to create, practice, and convey it to the community. We can also gain knowledge from the community that we cannot get in higher education,” said the UTama Rector.
Meanwhile, Dr. Keni, as the head of the FEB UTama PkM team, hopes that the machines provided will be useful to the community and expresses his gratitude to Widyatama University, the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, and the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology’s PkM for facilitating the activities of the PkM team he leads.
“Hopefully, the activities of this Community Service Program will provide maximum benefits, especially for Oded, whose production process was previously done traditionally but now, God willing, has become
modern,” said Keni.
The owner of Opak Oded expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by UTama, which even designed and engineered the machine for Opak Oded’s production needs.
“I would like to express my gratitude to Widyatama University, the Rector, WIBI, and members of the Grant PKM, where what started as just my confession to Mrs. Keni has now, thank God, resulted in a business innovation with the help of this machine.”
