(Bandung, June 23-24, 2023) Widyatama University held an international competition titled Widyatama International Competition (WINACTION 2023) with 290 participants from several countries, including Egypt, China, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Participants from Indonesia came from 68 universities and 11 provinces, including West Java, Central Java, DKI Jakarta, East Java, Bali, Aceh, Lampung, Yogyakarta, West Kalimantan, and South Sulawesi.
WINACTION 2023 had 20 competition categories, both academic and non-academic. The academic competitions consisted of Business Plan, Product Innovation, Application using Google Technology, Community Service Poster, Scientific Poster (Economics), Scientific Poster (Engineering), Essay, English News Anchor, English Poetry Reading, English Speech Contest, Japanese News Anchor, and Japanese Monogatari, while the non-academic competitions consisted of Motion Graphics, Reels Video Content, E -Sport Mobile Legend, E-Sport PUBG, Vocal Group, Modern Dance, Band, and Photography. The academic competitions are open to university students, while the non-academic competitions are open to participants of all ages (general public).
Participants underwent a selection and mentoring process that began on May 6 and ended on June 20, 2023, online via Zoom meetings. The teams that passed will compete again in the final round, which will be held offline at the Widyatama University Multipurpose Building (GSG).
The first day of the WINACTION 2023 final event was opened by Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum. as the Rector of Widyatama University at 8:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time and was attended by guests including Dr. Agus. Supriatna, S.Sos., M.Si. (Deputy Chair of LLDIKTI Region IV), Sri Juniati, S.E., MBA. (Chairperson of the Widyatama Foundation), Roeshartono, S.T., MCEM., MBA., (Chairperson of the Widyatama Foundation) as well as several representatives from private universities under the guidance of LLDIKTI Region IV, with a panel of judges who are experts in their respective fields.
The “WINACTION 2023 or Widyatama International Competition 2023” event is intended for high school and university students as a forum for students to compete, innovate, and be creative. This will certainly be beneficial for universities throughout Indonesia and abroad because it will produce the output needed by the industry today,” said Prof. Dadang in his speech.
The final WINACTION on the first day was held offline on Friday, June 23, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. WIB with the competition categories of E -Sport Mobile Legend, E-Sport PUBG held at GSG, Business Plan, Product Innovation, English News Anchor, English Poetry Reading, English Speech Contest, Application using Google Technology, Essay, Scientific Poster (Economics), Scientific Poster (Engineering), and Motion Graphic held in several classrooms and seminar rooms.
On the second day of the finals, held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, the competition categories were Modern Dance, Vocal Group, and Band, held at GSG, and Japanese News Anchor and Japanese Monogatari, held in the Seminar Room, Building B, 6th Floor, Widyatama University.
After all the competitions were completed, the next activity was the distribution of trophies and prizes to the winners by Muchammad Fauzi, S.T., M.Log. as the Chief Executive (Head of the Student Affairs Bureau) and Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan Kusumah, S.E., M.SI., AK., C.A. (Vice Rector for Higher Education & Student Affairs). The following are the winners of the WINACTION 2023 competition:
