Widyatama University Successfully Graduated 806 New Graduates at Harris Convention Centre Hotel Festival Citylink Bandung

Widyatama University (UTama) successfully held a graduation ceremony for the 2023-2024 academic year for 806 new graduates at the Harris Convention Center Festival Citylink on Saturday, 25 November 2023. The graduates who were inaugurated were ready to enter a new world and start a career in the world of work.
On this happy occasion the Rector of Widyatama University, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, Drs., M.Hum congratulated the graduates and gave the highest appreciation to them for successfully graduating as new scholars. All of that is inseparable from the hard work, dedication, and commitment they have shown during their lectures.
“Hopefully the graduates will be truly qualified and well received in the community and the world of work. Widyatama academic community also prayed for the graduates to be blessed with smoothness and success, “said the Rector of Widyatama University in his speech.

Prof Dadang advised all graduates to always maintain the good name of their alma mater and remain humble.
“Show up confidently as a person with the spirit of Widyatama University which is great, humble, excellent, brave, agile, and transcendent. The point is to be an extraordinary person and remain humble,” Prof Dadang advised the graduates.

According to Prof Dadang, until now Widyatama University has always made efforts to improve, both in terms of quality, quality, and improvement of educational facilities and infrastructure. The fostered campus has also supported the government programme, namely “Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka”.
“The Merdeka Campus encourages us to become lifelong learners. The necessity to continue learning to explore talents and interests. Increase competency excellence in the new era of education and the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0,” continued Prof. Dadang.
At this graduation ceremony, Prof. Dr. Zulganef, Drs., M.M., who is the first professor at Widyatama University delivered a scientific oration on the “Consumer Boycott” which has been phenomenal lately, using Bibliometric Techniques.

According to the Professor of Management Science, consumer boycotts are often motivated by various factors including ethical issues, social justice, human rights violations, environmental sustainability, or political disputes.
Boycotts usually occur due to conflicting values held by consumers and those resulting from the entity of an organisation or company.
“Global events such as conflicts or controversies can trigger widespread responses from individuals around the world who feel connected because of the issues at hand such as what is happening in Israel and Palestine today,” said Prof Zulganef.
Thousands of graduates and their families attended the graduation ceremony held by Widyatama University at the Harris Convention Center Festival Citylink, Bandung City, including Dr.Keni Kaniawati.M.Si who represented the parents of graduates. Dr.Keni was given the opportunity to congratulate all graduates who attended.
“This is not the end but the beginning of the struggle, the challenge of the future. You are the reformers of the future and you are the answer to the future,” said Dr Keni enthusiastically.

Furthermore, Dr Keni added, if the graduates had succeeded in making their parents smile proudly because they had fulfilled their obligations in studying well and successfully graduated as Widyatama University graduates.
Interestingly, among the excitement of the graduation atmosphere there were 38 best graduates. One of them was Vira Luthfiati Az-Zahra. She is the fastest graduate from the Industrial Engineering department. Vira managed to complete her studies in only three years and eight months.

This beautiful girl felt happy to be a graduate of Widyatama University because she always received support and facilities from her beloved campus, “During my study at Widyatama, I got many opportunities to participate in competitions so that it was facilitated in freedom of expression and work.”
Vira explained that she made many friends from various regions in Indonesia. All of this can happen because Widyatama University campus is nationally known so that students come from various parts of the country. In addition, the campus also has a high tolerance for the cultural diversity of its students.

The fastest graduate from Widyatama University is proud that she can easily find a job. In fact, Vira currently has a job at a shoe manufacturing company.
“Alhamdulillah, when the trial and I got the SKL, I applied for work and was immediately accepted,” said Vira proudly.
On the occasion of today’s graduation, Widyatama University gave awards to 38 former high school / vocational high school achievers in the West Java region given to former students and school principals.
