The Widyatama University Library held a Cheap Book Fair in the courtyard of the Widyatama University Library Building from September 25-30, 2017. Various types of affordable books were displayed, including novels, children’s books, textbooks, and religious books from bookstores and publishers in the city of Bandung, such as Andi Publishers, Ghalia Indonesia, Angkasa Book Publishers, Prenada Group, Alfabeta, Sygma, Kanisius, PT. Kamil Pustaka, Periplus Bookstore, and Perta Bookstore.

This event is a means of fulfilling the need for inexpensive and original books for the academic community. Hundreds of students, lecturers, and employees of Widyatama University enlivened this inexpensive book fair, which is part of a series of events commemorating International Literacy Day, which falls on September 8 every year. The theme for this year’s event is “Through Reading, We Welcome a Literate Generation,” with the hope that interest in literacy among the community can be nurtured from a young age while pursuing higher education.
