The Career Center and Cooperation Bureau of Widyatama University held a gathering and MoU signing ceremony with 40 private companies and state-owned enterprises on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the Widyatama University Seminar Building, 6th floor.
The purpose of this event was to establish cooperation in graduate recruitment.
“The vision and mission are to establish cooperation, particularly in the recruitment of our graduates, by expanding and disseminating the latest information to universities and synergizing study programs,” said Yelli Eka Sumadhinata, S.E., M.M. (Head of the UTama Career Center) during her speech.
She said that UTama has established good relationships with several state-owned and private companies.
“For 2022, more than 50 companies have collaborated with the Career Center, both private companies and state-owned companies, in recruitment programs and internship programs for students,” said Yelli.
The next speech was given by Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum. (Rector of Widyatama University).
He said that education can be obtained through formal, non-formal, and informal education. Students can gain knowledge inside and outside the campus, including through internships at several companies because they can see and observe directly from practitioners.
“Now students have the potential to become presidents, professors, and ministers. What we must do is provide a path for their minds and potential to open up so they can achieve what they want. That is what is called the Independent Campus.”Prof. Dadang said, “The benefit of inviting practitioners is that students can gain real-world work experience and knowledge that cannot be obtained on campus, such as problem solving, communication skills, teamwork, and respect for others. I would like to invite more practitioners to come to campus to share their knowledge with our students.”
He also emphasized that the indicators of a good university are how many practitioners are invited to campus, what knowledge they impart, and the benefits of their output.
“The knowledge gained must have pragmatic implications, meaning it must be beneficial for real life,” said Prof. Dadang.
The event continued with the signing of the MoU and a presentation on the implementation of MBKM and company testimonials regarding graduates from Widyatama University at PT. Chroma International, presented by Siti Sarah, M.Psi as HRD, as well as from PT. Taekwang Indonesia, presented by Moch Yhanuar Wijaya, S.I.Kom as HRD and Bunga Indah Bayunitri, S.E., M.M., Ak., C.A. as Moderator for the discussion.

“Widyatama University graduates who work at our company have the advantages of high self-confidence, adaptability, and willingness to learn, which adds value to Widyatama graduates. In the future, we hope that Widyatama graduates will have specializations in their respective fields,” said Siti Sarah.
“Widyatama graduates have the advantage of being easy to communicate with, willing to learn, adaptable, and of course have good management skills, so PT. Taekwang feels assisted in meeting the human resource needs of the company.” Said Yhanuar.
