Bandung, August 2nd, 2024 – Widyatama University proudly celebrates its 23rd anniversary today at 8:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time at the Widyatama Multipurpose Building (GSG). The theme of this event is “Building a Superior Generation with a Measurable Academic University,” which is to strengthen the university’s commitment to producing a superior generation through quality education.
The event began with a Senate Session attended by all senate members and invited guests. After that, the audience sang the national anthem “Indonesia Raya” together, followed by a moment of silence to commemorate the services of the heroes.
The prayer was led by Yanyan Agustian, creating a solemn atmosphere at the beginning of the event. Next, the Open Senate Session was officially opened by the Chairman of the Senate, who is also the Rector of Widyatama University, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum. conveyed the importance of education in shaping the character of an excellent and competitive young generation. He also emphasized Widyatama University’s commitment to continuously improving academic quality and services to students.
The next speech was delivered by the Chairman of the Widyatama Foundation, Roeshartono, S.T., MCEM., MBA., who emphasized the importance of synergy between the foundation and the university in achieving the established educational vision and mission. He also appreciated the achievements of Widyatama University so far.
The event continued with the screening of a video showcasing the achievements of Widyatama University, featuring various academic and non-academic accomplishments of the university, its students, and lecturers. The atmosphere became even more lively with the performance of the song “Bagimu Negeri” (For You, My Country), which was sung together by all attendees.
Traditional arts also participated in enlivening the event through captivating dance performances and songs from the Widyatama Vocal Group, which performed a variety of inspirational songs. Not to be missed, the Widyatama anthem was sung enthusiastically by all attendees, showing their pride and love for their alma mater.
The 23rd Anniversary of Widyatama University was closed with emotion and pride. The closing of the event signified a shared commitment to continue innovating and providing the best for education in Indonesia. Happy Anniversary, Widyatama University!
