Currently, around 5,400 Indonesian students are continuing their education in Japan. Of these, most are recipients of scholarships from the Japanese government, agencies, or other companies. The Japanese government scholarship that is well known among Indonesians is the scholarship from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Monbukagakusho/MEXT). This scholarship covers tuition and living expenses, with no service obligation.
The Japanese Embassy in Indonesia and its Consulates in Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar conduct annual registration and selection for Monbukagakusho scholarship applicants. The programs offered to Indonesian students are the Research Student Program for college graduates, Undergraduate, College of Technology, and Professional Training College for high school graduates, Japanese Studies for students majoring in Japanese studies, and Teacher Training for teachers. Mr. Masamu provided tips and tricks to Widyatama students on how to win Japanese speech contests and opportunities to obtain scholarships to study in Japan.
Given the high level of interest among students in obtaining the Monbukagakusho scholarship and the significant opportunities available for securing such scholarships, the Japanese Language Program at Widyatama University organized a workshop featuring Mr. Masamu Kamaga, Ph.D., a lecturer from Binus University, on Saturday (September 22) at the second-floor meeting room of the rectorate building.
Widyatama Japanese Language Study Program Holds Workshop on Opportunities to Obtain Scholarships to Study in Japan.
The workshop was attended by dozens of students from the Widyatama University Japanese Language Bachelor’s and Diploma programs. The head of the Japanese Language Bachelor’s and Diploma programs organized this event with the aim of teaching Widyatama students strategies for obtaining Monbukagakusho scholarships. In addition, Mr. Masamu provided Widyatama students with tips & tricks for winning Japanese speech contests. (Ed)
