Widyatama University has once again established cooperation with Malaysian educational institution Ranaco Education & Training Institute (RETI), a maritime educational institution in the field of continuing education programs. This cooperation was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) by both institutions, represented by the Rector of Widyatama University, Dr. Mame S. Sutoko, Ir. DEA. and Capt. Dr. Ramlan bin Ramli, Chief Executive Officer of RETI, on Friday (14/8) in the seminar room on the 6th floor of Widyatama University, witnessed by the coordinator of Kopertis Region IV, Prof. Abdul Halim Hakim.
With the signing of this memorandum of agreement, RETI graduates can continue their undergraduate studies at Widyatama University Bandung, specifically in the Management study program, which can be completed in three semesters consisting of 64 semester credits. For Widyatama University students in their 5th or 6th semester, there is also an opportunity to undertake internships in various industries that have partnered with RETI for a period of six months. In attendance at the event were Walid, a representative from the Malaysian People’s Trust Council (Mara), and a representative from the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.
This is not the first time Widyatama University has collaborated with foreign educational institutions. Some time ago, Widyatama signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Geomatika International College Malaysia, a Malaysian higher education institution engaged in Pharmacy and Biotechnology, to collaborate on study programs, particularly Management, and will explore an MoA with Industrial Engineering study programs. It is hoped that this collaboration will enhance the quality of education and serve as a means to strengthen institutional relationships, particularly within the Southeast Asian region.
