Widyatama is once again providing scholarships to outstanding but underprivileged students in Sorong Regency, Papua. This was marked by the signing of a Scholarship Program Agreement by Rector Dr. Mame S. Sutoko, Ir. DEA, representing Widyatama University, and Sorong Regent Dr. Stepanus Malak, M.Si. on Friday (2/10) at the Widyatama University Auditorium in Bandung.
As a form of expanding access to higher education for high school graduates, the general public, and vocational schools in Sorong Regency, Widyatama is providing full scholarships from the Batch III Institutional Competency Grant Program (PHK-I) of the Directorate of Higher Education and the Widyatama Foundation.
The signing, witnessed by the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, Vice Admiral (Ret.) Freddy Numberi, welcomed this program. On the same occasion, the Rector stated that this is a small but concrete step by Widyatama to open up opportunities for outstanding students who cannot afford to study at university.
