The availability of qualified human resources is currently an important and urgent issue. One indicator of the success of an educational institution is the availability of a Career Center as a form of the institution’s responsibility towards its graduates. The Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen DIKTI) of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (http://dikti.go.id/), through the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, is actively implementing a Career Center Development Program to support the alignment of education with the world of work. Career Centers are essential in every university (PT) given their important role in helping graduates find jobs that match the skills required by the world of work.
The separation of the placement office from the Marketing Bureau into a separate unit, namely the Career Center Bureau, is a serious step taken by Widyatama to focus more on assisting graduates in their job search. The serious and professional management of the Universitas Widyatama Career Center targets high-quality outcomes. The numerous work programs planned and carried out by the career center are one of the outputs of its success. Among these activities is establishing cooperation with well-known private and government companies to find out what the business and industrial world needs, as well as to bridge the gap for graduates in obtaining employment or becoming entrepreneurs.
All students and alumni can participate in training sessions organized by the Career Center. In addition to organizing corporate relations activities, the Widyatama Career Center actively holds regular job fairs, which are open not only to Univesitas Widyatama graduates but also to the general public.
