Widyatama Academic Community Strengthens Faith in the Holy Month Through the Week of Light of the Qur’an

In welcoming the Holy Month of Ramadan 1439 H, the Widyatama Foundation once again held the Qur’an Light Week on Saturday-Monday, May 19-21, 2018, at the Widyatama Auditorium (GSG) Building. This year’s event carries the theme “Widyatama Festival of Blessings.” In order to introduce and hone the academic abilities of the younger generation and Islamic religious practitioners among the Muslim community in Bandung and its surroundings, the Widyatama Foundation presents religious lectures and several competitions, including the Adhan, Tahfidz, and calligraphy competitions.

A total of 60 people participated in the competitions on May 19-20, including 23 people in the Adzan competition, 17 people in the calligraphy competition, and 20 people in the Tahfidz competition. The presence of judges from the Nurul Khairiyah and Gontor Islamic boarding schools enlivened the competition, which was attended by participants, mostly children aged 6-10 years old.

The Islamic boarding school figures who served as judges included Muhammad Fansuri from the Nurul Khairiyah Dabo Singkep Islamic Boarding School, Dzaky Solikhul Rokhman from the Al Jazary Foundation, and Dita Puteri Lestari from the Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School. The judges selected three students as winners of the competition, including:

Adhan Competition

Calligraphy Competition

1st Place: Nada Indri Shalmawati

2nd Place: Gilang Randitya Nugraha

3rd Place: Tria Silviawati Nurfalah

The 5th event was hosted by Master of Ceremony Abu Marlo and closed on May 21 with a public lecture entitled “Sincerity from Birth to Death” with several well-known speakers, including:
