Wednesday, August 17, 2022 The entire Widyatama academic community held a flag ceremony in the campus parking lot at exactly 8:00 a.m.
This ceremony was held as a form of respect for the heroes who sacrificed their blood, sweat, and lives for the sake of the nation and state. The ceremony was solemn, with the Inspector of the ceremony, the Rector of Widyatama University, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum., reading the text mandated by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Seventy-seven years ago, with great courage, our predecessors proclaimed independence, raised the red and white flag, and declared the nation’s independence and sovereignty; thus, Independent Indonesia was born. The struggle for independence has been recorded in history. We cannot stop moving and taking steps forward. Especially this year, we are commemorating the 77th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in 2022 with the spirit of “Recover Faster, Rise Stronger.”
“We are currently proving this spirit together through the 2022 G20 presidency, with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendukbudristek) playing a major role in fostering global collaboration to work together to restore and revive the education system.”
The central government has already decided on a theme and logo to be used as branding for a series of activities commemorating the 77th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The theme for the 2022 anniversary is “77 Years of the Republic of Indonesia: Recover Faster, Rise Stronger.”
The ceremony concluded with the Widyatama University student choir singing songs of independence.
