Welcome! That was the friendly greeting that welcomed the group of students and accompanying teachers from SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah. On Wednesday (5/4), the group arrived at the Seminar Room on the 4th floor of Building B at Widyatama University at around 10:00 a.m. A total of 50 students from SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah, accompanied by 9 teachers, were present to participate in the Visit Widyatama event. The school principal was also present during the visit.
At exactly 10:30 a.m., the event began with remarks from representatives of the Marketing Bureau of Widyatama University and the principal of SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah, Drs. H. Alan Suherlan, M.Pd. After several ice-breaking activities and a short quiz about Widyatama University, the atmosphere became even more lively. Several souvenirs were distributed to students who actively paid attention and answered questions from the MCs.
To further lighten the mood, students who will take the Computer-Based National Examination on April 10th, 2017, were treated to a motivational seminar to get them more excited about the UNBK. The seminar was led by a lecturer from the Faculty of Business & Management at Universitas Widyatama, who also serves as the Head of the Widyatama University Career Center, Mr. Pipin Sukandi, S.E., M.M. “In facing any challenge, everything can be overcome with positive thinking,” said Pipin during the seminar.
The event continued with a campus tour. Students from SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah were invited to visit several locations on campus, such as the Integrated Library Building, faculty buildings at Universitas Widyatama, the IMac Practicum Room at the Faculty of Visual Communication Design, and the Assembling Practicum Room of the Industrial Engineering Study Program. After being introduced to the senior students from each study program, the students were explained the learning process and the atmosphere of studying in the practicum rooms. They were very enthusiastic in asking questions about the majors on campus and college life. They were also invited to visit several locations such as the beautiful back garden of the campus, the food court, and the Student Activity Center Building which is currently under construction. The tour concluded with a group photo in front of the Main Hall Plaza, which serves as the icon of Universitas Widyatama.
