Visit from Widya Mataram University

On Friday (21/1), Universitas Widyatama (UTama) received a visit from Widyamataram University. Located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, this campus is a school established by Sultan Hamengkubuwono under the Yogyakarta Royal Palace. The visit was attended by Vice Rector III Dr. Jumadi, S.E., M.M. and his staff, accompanied by the Deans and Heads of Study Programs at Widya Maratam University.

A warm welcome and greetings were given by the Rector of UTama, Dr.H. Islahuzzaman, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., along with his staff, as well as the heads of bureaus and centers who participated in the visit. The event, which took place in the Widyatama Seminar Room, was initiated by the Faculty of Business and Management and the Faculty of Economics, which had previously received a letter of request for a visit from Widya Mataram for the purpose of academic benchmarking.

The campus, often abbreviated as UWMY, invited 70 students from its Faculty of Economics. The enthusiasm of the UWMY students increased when the committee, represented by Widyatama students who are active in the student senate (SEMA), showed a video profile of UTama with its various activities and facilities.

“The Widyatama campus is a cool campus, with a comfortable atmosphere far from the hustle and bustle of traffic, which makes me want to study for my master’s degree here. The facilities that support the progress of its students are also very well maintained. I think this is a recommended campus for other people in the world,” said Rizky, a Widya Mataram student whom we interviewed.

The Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management at UTama, Nugroho J. Setiadi, Ph.D., hopes that this collaboration will not end here, but that both parties can learn from each other and share knowledge about educational development. Especially in the era of the ASEAN Economic Community, it is time for us to unite to educate the nation.
