On Thursday (January 27), Widyatama University (UTama) welcomed a visit from SMK Negeri 6 Bandung. The group arrived at around 8:30 AM at the Widyatama parking lot and was welcomed by the Marketing Bureau and Marketing Crew. The group was led by Mrs. Desy, a staff member of SMK Negeri 6 Bandung, and representatives from the school. SMKN 6 Bandung brought around 600 students from various scientific fields.
The event began with a speech from the Head of the Marketing Bureau, Mrs. Devy Mawarnie Puspitasari, S.E., M.M., followed by a speech from Mr. Drs. Adhy, Deputy Head of the School for Human Resources. The event then continued with a tryout held at the Widyatama University lecture building. This had many benefits for the school, especially the students, as it provided hard skills training for the students of SMK Negeri 6 Bandung.
The purpose of the group’s visit to UTama was to provide an understanding of higher education to vocational school graduates and their equivalents. This is because vocational school graduates do not yet know which university they will attend after graduating from vocational school and what major they will choose when they go to college. In addition to providing this understanding, the visit was used as a means to provide more detailed information about Widyatama University. At the end of the event, the Head of the Office presented merchandise and souvenirs to the group and conducted a group photo session to foster camaraderie and good relations between the two institutions.
