SABAKOTA.ID – A training activity entitled Creating Customer Value for strawberry farmers in the South Bandung area was provided by a cluster of lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Widyatama University (UTama) at the end of February.
The training for a number of farmers and strawberry-based food business operators was held in Sukaresmi Village, Rancabali District, Bandung Regency, and was part of a series of Community Service (PKM) activities routinely carried out by UTama lecturers every semester.
Through this training, it is hoped that farmers will gain additional skills, particularly in adding value to their products.
If the training objectives are achieved, the added value will create a positive impression on consumers, ultimately leading buyers to purchase and consume the products of strawberry farmers or businesses.
Following the opening ceremony conducted by Ryan Kurniawan, a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Widyatama, Ifa Latifah, also a lecturer at the same university, presented the training materials.
On that occasion, Ifa explained how businesses can implement branding so that their products have more value and are preferred by consumers.
This training activity was also attended by several other FEB lecturers who are members of the same cluster, namely Annisa Lisdayanti, Ni Putu Nurwita Pratami Wijaya, Dinda Kayani Putri Bestari, and Henry Meytra Taufik.
The lecturers who acted as training instructors on that occasion obtained information about the problems commonly experienced by farmers, namely the lack of knowledge about how to package and distribute products more widely.
Several problems experienced by farmers that were conveyed to the team of lecturers were then discussed and solutions were sought.
The training event was closed by the head of the FEB University of Widyatama cluster team, Gallang Perdhana Dalimunthe, who conveyed the message that the lecturers of Widyatama University are basically ready to carry out similar collaborations in the future.
