The Bachelor’s and Diploma Accounting Programs Hold a Public Lecture Entitled Sharing Experience: Entrepreneurship

“A leader must be able to set an example before inviting others to do what they want. He must also be able to hear and see reality, because only then will he know the problem.” This was conveyed by Martha Tilaar, founder and president director of Martha Tilaar Group at a public lecture entitled “Sharing Experience: Entrepreneurship” on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at the Seminar Room on the 4th floor of Widyatama University, Bandung. In this public lecture, Martha Tilaar shared her ups and downs in building the business she started as a teenager. As an entrepreneur, leadership skills must be continuously developed and honed. Insight and knowledge are key assets in becoming a reliable entrepreneur. Martha added that the keys to success that an entrepreneur must uphold are discipline, honesty, innovation, perseverance, resilience, and focus. Discipline in all matters, honesty in actions, continuously creating something new, and never giving up. The event, organized by the Accounting Program (Bachelor’s and Associate’s Degrees), concluded with the presentation of souvenirs by the Rector of Widyatama University.
