The Library and Information Science Study Program at Widyatama University (UTama) in Bandung collaborated with the Information Technology Study Program to conduct a Community Service (PKM) activity at SMKN 8 Bandung.
In this PKM, the two study programs created a program and utilized a Digital Library, with the theme “Socialization of Digital Library Use.”
The activity was held on Friday, July 29th, 2022.

The socialization event for the use of the Digital Library took place at the SMKN 8 Bandung library building, Jalan Kliningan No. 31.
It was attended by the Head of the Library, Library Staff and ICT Staff of SMKN 8, including lecturers and students from both study programs.
The Head of the Library and Information Science Program at UTama, Diah Sri Rejeki, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., explained that the development of this Digital Library was the result of joint research between lecturers from the Library and Information Science Program, lecturers from the Informatics Engineering Program, and students from both programs through the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program.

The program has been completed, implemented, and its benefits have been felt by librarians and students.
“This greatly assists library operations, from registering new members, entering book collections, borrowing and returning books, to providing forum facilities,” said Diah.
Diah added that the features created were in line with what the SMKN 8 Bandung Library wanted, although there were still some features that needed improvement.
Responding to this activity, SMKN 8 Bandung ICT staff member Indra Nurdiyana, S.T., said that the development activity has reached 80% completion and can be continued for the next UTama MBKM students, so that in the future the existing features can be maximized.
Meanwhile, the Head of the SMKN 8 Bandung Library, Elok Wahyu Yudha Wantina, S.Pd, and the Deputy Principals of SMKN 8 expressed their appreciation to the lecturers and UTama MBKM students who had built the Digital Library at SMKN 8, which is now accessible to librarians and students of SMKN 8 Bandung.
