The Rector of Universitas Widyatama, Prof. Dr. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum., participated in the Signing of the 2026 Impactful Higher Education Performance Contract organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), as part of efforts to align the direction of higher education management in Indonesia towards the grand vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.
The event, which was held on Monday, January 5th, 2026, was attended by leaders of state universities (PTN) and private universities (PTS) from all over Indonesia, and was witnessed directly by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Brian Yuliarto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.
In his remarks, the Minister emphasized the importance for universities to continue to deliver breakthroughs and innovations, maintain the quality of education, and strengthen the strategic role of lecturers as the spearhead in preparing future talent. The government is also paying attention to improving the welfare of lecturers by strengthening the research ecosystem and providing research incentives.
Minister Brian Yuliarto said that Indonesia has more than 4,400 universities, around 300,000 lecturers, and nearly 10 million students, which together form a higher education ecosystem with a huge economic, social, and environmental impact. Therefore, strengthening the role and collaboration between universities is key to continuing to develop this contribution and providing a multiplier effect.
“We each have a role to play in creating breakthroughs, generating advanced industries, and strengthening the downstreaming of research results. By working together, universities can form a national orchestra that complements each other and has a real impact on society,” said Minister Brian.
