On Tuesday (May 16th), Widyatama University welcomed Siliwangi University, represented by the Rector of Siliwangi University, Dr. Ir. Nundang Busaeri, M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., along with the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Siliwangi University, Prof. Dr. Dedi Kusmayadi, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., CRA., CRP., CPA., and their respective staff. The purpose and objective of the event was to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Cooperation Agreement and Comparative Study between Widyatama University and Siliwangi University.
The event, which took place in the Seminar Room on the 6th floor of Building B, was attended by the Rector of Widyatama University, Prof. Dr. Dadang Suganda M. Hum., Vice Rector for Higher Education Tri Dharma, Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan Kusumah, S.E., M.Si.,Ak.,CA., Vice Rector for Finance, Human Resources & Facilities, Dr. Diana Sari, S.E., M.Si., Ak., Q.IA., CA., ACPA., faculty deans and other invited guests.
The agenda of activities that had been planned well in advance resulted in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding student exchanges, lecturer exchanges, research collaboration, and community service (PkM), which not only took the form of journal research but also community development in the field of entrepreneurship.
Prof. Dr. Dadang, Rector of Widyatama, said that Widyatama has collaborated with several villages in Parongpong District, West Bandung Regency, West Java Province, and he hopes that there will be cooperation between the academic community of Widyatama University and Siliwangi University to create activities oriented towards entrepreneurship and community service programs.
During the discussion, the Rector of Siliwangi University mentioned that regarding empowerment, they will focus on food security. The Rector of Widyatama University agreed to collaborate with Siliwangi University’s focus on food security and Widyatama University’s focus on entrepreneurship.
The collaboration between Widyatama University, which has received the Cluster Mandiri, and Siliwangi University as a State University (PTN) to achieve a win-win solution through research grants, lecturer and/or student exchanges, recognition of linear competencies, and how lecturers’ works are recognized by external institutions, in this case Siliwangi University.
The Rector of Widyatama University also said that in relation to student development, Siliwangi University, which has experience in managing villages, and Widyatama University, which has experience in managing cities, can collaborate to create novelty. For example, in future community service in the areas of cities, villages, and towns, Widyatama University can apply its expertise in digitalization or social systems in the context of cities and research, while Siliwangi University can apply its expertise in the environment and nature.
