Bandung, July 9th, 2025 – Universitas Widyatama once again achieved academic excellence by holding the Doctoral Program in Management Science Promotion Session on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025. This ceremony marks a significant milestone for Pras Rendy and Widyatama University, as it is the first Doctoral Promotion Ceremony held at the university. During the ceremony, Pras Rendy officially earned his doctoral degree after successfully defending his dissertation before the examining board.
The dissertation, entitled “The Role of Job Security as a Moderating Variable in the Relationship between Organizational Culture and Desire to Leave and Its Implications for the Performance of Lion Group Indonesia Employees,” raises important issues in human resource management. This study highlights how a sense of security at work can strengthen the positive relationship between organizational culture and employee loyalty, as well as its impact on performance improvement.
When met after the session, Dr. Pras Rendy explained the urgency of his research. “The focus of this dissertation research is indeed to find the root cause of the desire to leave itself. In the aviation industry, especially at Lion Group, this is a very difficult challenge because it can hinder the company’s expansion to become even broader,” he said.

Pras Rendy graduated with honors after completing his doctoral studies in 3 years with a GPA of 3.93—an extraordinary academic achievement. After the defense, he shared his feelings: “First, I express my gratitude to Allah SWT because this process was quite long and challenging, and the challenge was also quite difficult, so I feel like I’ve broken through, happy, joyful, and filled with gratitude.”
His struggle was not easy, especially in balancing time and location. “The first challenge was from a time perspective, and the second was location. I happened to be located in Bangladesh, so when conducting the research process, I had to return to Indonesia first, so those two perspectives had to be managed well,” added Pras Rendy.
The Vice Rector for Academic & Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Reiza D. Dienaputra, M.Hum., warmly welcomed this graduation and emphasized the quality that underpinned this achievement.
“The quality of his dissertation is excellent, having gone through an intensive mentoring process in accordance with academic norms. He went through five stages: Research Proposal Seminar, Colloquium, Research Results Seminar, Dissertation Manuscript Review, and today’s Promotion Session. This process was accompanied not only by the promoter, but also by expert opponents and representatives of professors. The Cum Laude graduation is based, among other things, on the assessment of the quality of the dissertation itself,” explained Prof. Reiza.
He also added, “Basically, pursuing a doctoral degree is not only about pursuing a title, but also about becoming ‘the only one expert’. In relation to Dr. Pras Rendy, he will become an expert in the field of turnover intention. This finding will make him a more competent practitioner because he has research experience.”
The Rector of Universitas Widyatama, Prof. Dr. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum., also expressed his appreciation for this achievement:
“We are proud of this extraordinary achievement. This is proof that Universitas Widyatama is capable of producing high-quality doctors who are ready to make strategic contributions to the nation and the business world.”
Family support has been an important pillar in Pras Rendy’s academic journey. His wife, Dwi Retno Anggrayeni, expressed her gratitude. “Alhamdulillah, praise and thanks be to Allah SWT. I am very happy that my husband has finally completed his studies. As his wife, I fully support my husband, whatever his aspirations are, I will definitely support him. I hope that my husband will be even more successful, his career will continue to soar, and he will love his family even more,” she said emotionally.
With this achievement, Pras Rendy is expected to continue contributing to the development of management science, particularly in the fields of human resource management and organizational behavior in the Indonesian industry.
