Increasing the number of new students is one of the goals of every university. Over the past three years, new student admissions (PMB) at Widyatama University (UTama) have increased significantly. In the previous period, there were around 1,200–1,300 new students, but this number has now increased to 3,000 new students. “The number of applicants, which continues to increase, shows the growing level of public trust in the quality of education at UTama, as demonstrated by the increasingly rigorous selection process for new students at Widyatama University,” explained Devy Mawarnie Puspitasari, Head of the UTama Marketing Bureau.
The increase in new students accepted at UTama is balanced by the quality of teaching staff, the provision of facilities, and services to support the quality and academic services of UTama. This includes the ability of lecturers to provide guidance in handling student issues. Skilled lecturers can directly guide and provide solutions to any academic problems faced by students during their studies.
“In relation to the increase in registrations and the number of new students, Widyatama University is committed to educating students to produce graduates who are qualified, competent in their respective fields, and have noble character,” said Sri Astuti Pratminingsih, Vice Rector III in charge of Development Planning and Cooperation.
In line with the 20 percent increase in the number of foreign students in Indonesia, Widyatama University will strive to double the number of foreign or international students from the current number. “In addition to bringing a different atmosphere to the campus environment, it can also be a source of income for the country,” said Viddi Mardiansyah, Head of the UTama Cooperation Bureau. To achieve this, the university is exploring new partnerships and following up on existing international collaborations. One such collaboration is with Troy University, Alabama, USA.
