SABACIREBON – Reaching the age of 21 for a private university with various achievements is not a simple matter. It was achieved through the joint efforts of the entire academic community and stakeholders.
Widyatama University (UTama), located in Bandung, is one of the private universities that now holds an “Excellent” accreditation and has successfully reached the age of 21 through its various dynamics.
The Chairman of the Widyatama Foundation, the governing body of UTama, Roeshartono, welcomed the 21st anniversary of his institution as a process of maturation that has successfully overcome various obstacles and trials.

At the 21st anniversary celebration attended by all leaders of the Widyatama Foundation and University, Roeshartono assessed that UTama’s journey certainly has its own meaning, depending on the angle from which it is viewed, how it is responded to, and how the various dynamics that occur are understood.
At the dies natalis event, which also coincided with the inauguration of 14 leaders within Widyatama University, the Chairman of the Foundation reminded everyone that, in line with its journey, Widyatama University had actually entered adulthood and must be more mature in carrying out its various programs.
“There are times when everything is well controlled, but there are also other times when there still seem to be many shortcomings that need to be improved,” he said.
Furthermore, it is said that in every event that occurs, UTama always gains new insights, becomes better, more resilient, and always learns lessons to become more mature.
The Chair of the Widyatama Foundation also reminded all university leaders that maturity in age must be accompanied by maturity in thinking, maturity in viewing things, and maturity in acting. “There is no need to fear criticism; continue to respect opinions and be grateful for suggestions given by any party.”

In another part of his speech, Roeshartono, who is also the grandson of Widyatama Foundation founder Prof. Dr. Koesbandiah, conveyed another meaning of the 21st anniversary, namely change. When we reach adulthood, we will always face various challenges that come one after another.
Facing these current and future changes, he invited the entire academic community to collectively appreciate the meaning of struggle and to always be sensitive to whatever happens in the environment in which they serve.
The celebration of Widyatama University’s 21st anniversary ended with a prayer and a meal shared by the academic community.
