Graduates of the Faculty of Business and Management at Widyatama University are highly competitive

Initially, the Faculty of Business and Management was one of the study programs at the Bandung School of Economics, which was organized by the Widyatama Foundation. STIEB was established in 1973 and in 1998 was accredited with an “A” rating based on Decree No. 001/BAN-PT/AK-1/VIII/1998 dated August 11, 1998.

In August 2003, with the merger of four colleges under the Widyatama Foundation, Widyatama University was formed, and the Department of Management became one of the departments in the Faculty of Economics – Widyatama University. The establishment of Widyatama University was based on the Decree of the Minister of National Education No. 137/D/0/2001 dated August 2, 2001.

In 2003, the Management Study Program was developed into the Faculty of Business and Management based on the Widyatama University Senate Decree No. 001/SK/SENAT/UTAMA/III/2004. This development was based on the idea that as a discipline, knowledge, and practical tools, the scope of management is so broad, with activities ranging from individuals to complex organizations. Furthermore, management is a derivative field of knowledge rooted in various disciplines, ranging from economics, social sciences, politics, mathematics, to engineering.

The business world is developing rapidly, requiring knowledge, ideas, methods, and techniques that are more practical and in line with developments that are increasingly fast-paced, complex, and difficult to predict. These circumstances prompted Widyatama University to develop the management department into the Faculty of Business and Management.

In 2011, the Faculty of Business and Management at Widyatama University was named The Best School of Management (according to Mix Magazine). In 2012, Widyatama University was named The Best Private University, and in 2014, based on a survey (source: Koran Tempo), it was named the Favorite Campus in Bandung. With the development of the management department into a faculty, it is hoped that the diploma and undergraduate management study programs can develop further and also improve internal management efficiency. Currently, there are approximately 2000 students in the Faculty of Business and Management, and with this large number, management is certainly more difficult. It is hoped that with the development of the status of the Faculty of Business and Management, there will be an increase in the effectiveness and efficiency of management so that graduates can have high competitiveness and be able to respond to the challenges of the business world.
