Information technology at Widyatama prepares students with expertise in designing computer programs and applications, including web, mobile, robotic, database technology, system intelligence, network technology, interactive games and multimedia, as well as other information technology development sciences in line with industry needs.
Information technology is a discipline that is derived from computer science, which is basically a collection of disciplines and techniques that specifically deal with the transformation or processing of symbolic facts (data) by making the most of computer technology.
In line with the rapid development of computer technology, the education program in the Informatics Engineering study program is directed at mastering informatics engineering knowledge and skills based on the ability to understand, analyze, assess, apply, and create software in computer processing. In addition, graduates are expected to have the ability to plan a computer network and system, as well as master the basics of information science and technology as a foundation for further study.
Under the Faculty of Engineering at Widyatama University, a work program called “ASTHA TEKNIKA” has been launched, which stands for the eight pillars of development and advancement of the Faculty of Engineering. “Astha Teknika” was born out of a desire to provide high-quality technical and computer science education to the Indonesian people and the global community. “Astha Teknika” is expected to encourage everyone at the Faculty of Engineering, Widyatama University (including leaders, lecturers, staff, and students) to work together to make the Faculty of Engineering a healthy organization in terms of governance and an organization that can produce the nation’s best sons and daughters with international competitive advantages.
Currently, Widyatama Informatics Engineering alumni are spread throughout Indonesia in various professions, such as lecturers, teachers, IT staff, entrepreneurs, and some even work abroad, such as in Singapore. They also work in a variety of places, such as banking, the paper industry, wood processing, and other industries.
