FEB Widyatama University Collaborates with the Community Learning Activity Center of the Indonesian Student Association (PKBM PPI) Taiwan to Organize Community Service

Bandung, 29 September 2023, Widyatama University’s Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB UTama) collaborated with the Community Learning Center (Community Learning Center) of the Indonesian Student Association (PKBM PPI) Taiwan, carrying out Community Service (PkM) intended for PKBM PPI Taiwan managers and students who are Indonesian Migrant Workers. This activity is a follow-up to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding which was carried out on Saturday, July 29 2023. This PkM activity is an Empowerment Class with the theme “Entrepreneurship and Household Financial Literacy” which will be held on September 8, 15 and 23, 20.00 – 22.00 Taiwan time.

PkM session I activities were carried out by the cluster led by Dr. Rima Rahmayanti, S.E., M.M., with the main resource person Dr. Meriza Hendri, S.IP., M.M., and moderator Dr. Kharisya Ayu Effendi, S.E., M.S.M., which will be held on September 8 2023. Dr. Meriza provided a common perception regarding the concept of corporate entrepreneurship for PKBM PPI Taiwan managers. He conveyed that this concept was very important for a non-profit organization to be able to make learning activities at PKBM PPI Taiwan run and be sustainable.

Furthermore, PkM session II activities with the theme “Developing the Entrepreneurial Mindset of PKBM PPI Taiwan Students” are related to the problems that Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) often face after no longer working abroad, which will be held on September 15 2023.

Dr. Meriza invited participants to understand that every step is a choice with consequences, so that this understanding can provide a clearer direction in achieving goals. The participants were very enthusiastic about taking part in this activity, showing a strong determination to improve the welfare of lives and families in the country.

The PkM activities for sessions I and II involved Dr. Neuneung Ratna Hayati, S.E., M.M., Dr. Rima Rahmayanti, S.E., M.M., Darwis Agustriyana, S.Ab., M.M. , Pipin Sukandi, S.E.,M.M, Dwinto Martri Aji Buana, S.E.,M.Si, Herman Sofyandi, S.E.,M.M and R. Achmad Drajat Aji Sujai, S.E.,M.M.

The final session of PkM activities held on September 23 2023 raised the topic of the main issue of financial management for PKBM PPI Taiwan students. One participant said that often the temptation to be consumptive, lifestyle and family demands result in the funds they have accumulated running out and making them return to looking for work abroad.

Activities in session III presented speakers Ignatius Oki Dewa Brata, S.E., M.Si., Ak., C.A., Erly Sherelita, S.E., M. Si., Ak., C. A., Bunga Indah Bayunitri, S.E., M.M., Ak., C.A. , Eriana Kartadjumena, Ph.D., S.E., M.M., Ak., CSRS., C.A., and H. R. Roosaleh Laksono T. Y, S.T., S.SI., M.E. which in turn conveys various practical views that can be applied by students.

All series of PkM activities were accompanied by PPI Taiwan PKBM managers and attended by Study Program Structural staff within FEB UTama. At the end of the activity, the Dean of FEB UTama, Dr. Nuryaman, S.E., M.Si., CA., expressed his thanks to PKBM PPI Taiwan,

“Thank you to PKBM PPI Taiwan for providing space for FEB UTama lecturers to share knowledge with Indonesian people abroad.”

He hopes that this activity can be sustainable as a form of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Apart from that, he gave high appreciation to the participants because of their enthusiasm to improve their welfare and future when they return to Indonesia.

This activity is clear evidence of FEB UTama’s commitment to expanding cross-border educational cooperation and encouraging individuals to be empowered in an increasingly dynamic environment. Sharing knowledge will be an important step in promoting the entrepreneurial spirit and financial literacy of participants. With a collaborative spirit that continues to develop, FEB UTama is committed to continuing to advance education for all groups and help individuals achieve their potential.

At the end, Anggraeni Kumala Dewi, who is the head of academic affairs at PPI Taiwan, expressed her many thanks to Widyatama University for providing a lot of knowledge to partners. PKBM PMI Taiwan hopes that in the future there will be increased collaboration with Widyatama University, and they will be able to come to Taiwan to take business classes there.
