On Wednesday (7/25), the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Widyatama held a sharing and counseling session in the Rectorate Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of Building A with an audience of prospective new students and their parents. The event, themed “How to Get a Career as an Engineer,” aimed to introduce to the public that the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Widyatama, particularly its new study programs, has established “structured” partnerships with two institutions, namely PT. Dirgantara Indonesia and the Indonesian Association of Construction Experts (IAKI).
Currently, Universitas Widyatama has added four new engineering study programs, namely Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
During the interview, Dr. M. Rozahi Istambul, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Widyatama, said, “The establishment of these four study programs is one of Universitas Widyatama’s efforts to support the advancement of technology and information, such as the Industrial Revolution 4.0 movement in all fields. The Faculty of Engineering at Widyatama implements this through collaborative learning processes that are integrated with the world of work,” he said.

This study program has anticipated the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 by collaborating with PT. Dirgantara Indonesia and a number of construction experts in Indonesia who are members of the Indonesian Construction Experts Association (IAKI). This collaboration will directly assess and train students’ competencies.
During the final semester, students will spend four months off-campus and participate in work hours as part of their practical training. Students of the Civil Engineering Bachelor Degree Program will take practical courses at the Construction and Environmental Quality Testing Center as a partner of IAKI, while students of the Electrical Engineering Bachelor Degree Program, Mechanical Engineering Bachelor Degree Program, and Mechanical Engineering Diploma Program will take practical courses at PT. Dirgantara Indonesia.
Representatives from PT. Dirgantara Indonesia and the IAKI Association also attended the event. Sharing and Counseling sessions were held openly between industry representatives and nearly 100 participants, discussing the learning system and career prospects for students after graduating from Universitas Widyatama.
