Widyatama University (UTama) Bandung, established on August 2, 2001, is a merger of five colleges, namely the Bandung College of Economics (STIEB), formerly IAB, established in 1973, the Bandung College of Technology (STTB), the Bandung College of Languages (STIBB), and the College of Visual Communication Design (STDKV).
In 2010, UTama was ranked 43rd in the List of Top Colleges and Universities in Indonesia (http://www.4icu.org/id/) and 48th as an Educational Institution in the Implementation of Internal Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Indonesia (Directorate General of Higher Education) and was included as one of the best private universities in West Java according to a survey by the Tempo Data and Analysis Center (PDAT TEMPO). With the end of the Rector’s term of office in early 2010, the Widyatama University Senate invites those who feel called to advance UTama to apply to become Rector of Widyatama University for the 2010-2014 period. Seven requirements must be met:
- Minimum education of Master’s degree/Specialist
- Hold a minimum functional position of senior lecturer.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of education or 4 years of service at UTama.
- Experience as a university structural official.
- Minimum age of 40 years.
- Proficient in English (written proof required).
- Willing to reside in the city of Bandung and its surroundings.
