Widyatama University to Host “Beauty Contest” Regional Capital Market Competition in West Java The Widyatama University Stock Exchange Corner in Bandung, in collaboration with PT. ITHO Indostock, which is affiliated with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) as an online capital market trading provider, will hold a “Beauty Contest.” Regional Capital Market Competition in West Java, which will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, at the Theater Room, Building B, 6th Floor, Widyatama University, Jl. Cikutra No. 204A, Bandung.
This event will be attended by a number of well-known universities in West Java, such as: School of Business and Management – Bandung Institute of Technology (SBM-ITB), Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar), Maranatha Christian University, Indonesian University of Education (UPI), Telkom Management Institute (IM Telkom), STIE-KB Bogor, and Widyatama University as the host, as well as several other universities.
According to Dian N. Subekti, General Manager of PT. ITHO Indostock, “This event will be attended by 26 teams from various well-known universities in West Java who have been participating in online trading since November 2009 and will represent West Java in the National Capital Market Competition. According to Hariandy Hasbi, M.M., Capital Market advisor from the Faculty of Business and Management at Widyatama University, the benefit of online trading is that it allows students to apply theories to real activities on the capital market, particularly in terms of correctly analyzing fundamental and technical factors of various issues and deciding which instruments/securities to trade at that time.
This event, “Widyatama University is very proud to be appointed as the organizer of this prestigious event in the field of finance, especially the capital market, because it is the first time participating in an online trading competition involving students from the Finance Concentration of the Management Department and was directly appointed as the host, even though there are several other universities in West Java that wanted to host this competition at their locations,” added the lecturer who is currently studying the Islamic capital market.
